Ariadne’s Requiem

1 min

After our quest.

I gave myself to you willingly

Like a sacrifice.

And you sacrificed me.

At the alter of your ego.

As you could.

Your tongue,

Soft with the silken nothingness,

Of love.

Your hands gentle guiding

My way.

Nurturing

Until I was an eroded pebble of myself

Washed and cleansed

By the sea –

Flawless and subservient

Under your swilling tide.

Voiceless and

Edgeless.

Nothing to speak of.

Embalmed.

Silken, smooth.

One dimensional-

Like a moth

Flattened.

Between

Papyrus.

And Wikipedia.

For an eternity.

    1. Aw Caroline – I am so happy to have you here! Looking forward to reading again! And thank you so much for your kind words Glad it resonated but kind of wish it hadn’t. I think most humans have felt eroded by life at one time or another 🤍
