December 20th

Hey Myri-chez,

Blair Witch, schmair witch. This is gonna be epic. We’ve got the cameras set. Recreation nation. And I can’t wait! What a way to celebrate the Christmas countdown crap and get a grade for the media project to boot. Damn, I love film school. I’ve wanted to do a spoof like this forever! It’s what I came to film school for! Roll on tomorrow. Lights, camera, action! Here we go…

December 21st

Exhibit A. Recovered Footage. Crackling, but the voice is distinct.

The boy stares into the camera, narrating the journey. His eyes are dark and deep. His face insipid under the torchlight. “The forest is black like the cry of a depraved wolf,” he says dramatically. Muffled laughter. “The snow bites the torn earth, a scavenger of life – suffocating all in its path.” More incessant laughter. “Shut up, fool,” a female voice says, followed by laughter. Louder. Fade to black.

December 22nd

Hey Myri-chez,

Gotta admit, things got pretty creepy last night. And I’m not easily spooked, but a bunch of weird stuff went down—symbols etched into the trees, like some kind of trail. Tonight, we’re going to follow them. That’s the plan anyway. And orange ribbons? Like, what the heck? Thanks for the inspo. We better get an A for this. I’ll let you know how it goes. The trail and the grade. Obviously.

Later, legends,

J

December 24th – Christmas Eve

Man, that was freaky as hell. Voices. Everywhere, voices. I can’t explain. Blood. There was blood. Not mine. Maybe mine. I don’t know. We’re out here alone. The moon. The moon is howling. Red. The ten…
