  • Ecstasy and agony I don’t often pair music with my pieces, but I felt this was worth sharing (even though I really don’t like the cover pic of the video, […]

    • I really enjoyed this one, and I’m glad you paired the song, it was a good companion to this piece. Really beautiful flow and rythm, nicely done!

    • So many beautiful lines in this one Heather, Beautiful things make me cry too. I really loved the ideas and the sense of moments of hope and freedom. The music also paired so well with it! Perfect choice!

    • I love pairing music and poems together, while I am already in love with the words I want to listen and read a couple more times!
Just got done on my second read with the music playing and it really gave the words so much depth as I read; I feel like I really relate to being sensitive to the good and bad and you captured that amazingly here!

    • Simply beautiful, but I think I already told you that. P.S. I’m still trying to work my way back to finding some inspiration.

This is so hauntingly beautiful and so, so sad. Your descriptions ons of the jelly are stunning as are the subtle details of the brush strokes 🤍

    • This is twisted, in a really great way. I immediately was attached to Sam. Your first paragraph was so strong, really brought me in. Nicely done!

    • This is one of those short stories that you think about long after you’ve finished reading. The pace, the character development – it hits on all cylinders.

      • Thank you so much, Dana!! Every time I reread this one, the sadness of the all too real situation lingers with me. I appreciate your thoughts 🙂

Oh my…this was so frivilously fun until the sucker punch of the last line – that slapped me right in the face! Very true though, I use it a lot and hate that I do but its that western kinda thing we do to ourselves when we just wanna moan but have been programmed to not. I love your cover art so much also! Beautiful!

      • It feels like such a crutch and yet I can’t help doing it. Like, here’s the silver lining to your sack of crap. Thank you so much for reading 🙂 And I’ve been trying to go through all my ‘discarded’ images and use them for inspiration.

        • Celia replied 2 years ago

I hear that…another go to for me is the classic ‘could be worse’ …Its somehow comforting to know that other people find themselves irritated with themselves as much as I am with myself 🤣 Wow, discared – it really is stunning!

    • Grounding is an essential part of enjoying the simple things. I too have bunnies and they are eyeballing my romaine. Nice work and I love the lead image.

      • Lol, I bet they are!! The bunnies here ate all my tulips. And thank you! I’m trying to use some of the images I’ve gotten but haven’t used as inspiration 🙂

    • Ah felt this one. I often get annoyed at myself for not stopping enough and taking in the beauty around me. Well written and love that image!

      • Thank you! I don’t think it’s hard to do. Always something on our minds or hearts keeping us occupied. And I love the image too…it was something I didn’t use for another piece but really wanted to write something for it 🙂

    • Really nice, it’s so hard to stop for the small things especially now. The little things bring a lot of joy. This is such a good reminder.

      • Thank you! I’m glad it maybe gave you a bit of joy today to stop and look around. I know I needed the brief reset 🙂

    • Elegantly lascivious with a potent ending. Phenomenal poem, Heather!

    • I really love the way this flowed, I think it would sound great read. Really wonderful way of working the acrostic.

      • Thank you, River 🙂 You do such a great job of reading aloud. I wish I had that confidence.

        • there might be a program coming on here where we get readers for people, both for poems and short stories =].

    • Deliciously good, Heather. I loved reading it again

    • Stunning. Sexy but not disgusting. Beautiful in its way and just brilliant use of an acrostic. This was one of my favourites…though that’s always going to be hard to decide from your mammoth collection of eclipse-inspired ones! Also…that guy has an inspired level of upper body strength and a killer core lol. Tal, fin.

      • LOL, I mean he needs to be able to show up! And thank you so much, I loved the way this one turned out. I’m glad it’s being well received 🙂

Very sclever and sensual – beautifully done!

      • Thank you so much, Celia 🙂 And I like ‘sclever’ whether it was a typo or not. Reminds me of ‘shmexy’ lol.

    • Wow this was a really excellent, so sad and beautiful. I’m so glad to see you on here! So excited to see more!

    • Celia replied 2 years ago

Oh my goodness, this was so heartbreakingly beautiful. Such a powerful testamet to friendship, love and justice. You had me sobbing at Rathlon’s ____ and then bawlling at the interruption x Really stunningly written 🤍

      • Thank you for your kind feedback 🙂 I’m so happy these characters captured your heart so quickly.

    • SO beautifully written, fairy tale quality with a strong message of love. Some of your best work, right here!

    • I remember this one broke my heart. Excellent storytelling. 😢

    • I…yes…this one made me really kinda teary eyed. Such elegance though…such deftness in how you, in not even that many words, brought their age-old friendship to life. So much sadness and beauty in one story. Wanna know something weird. One of my first drafts/ideas for that particular challenge, was for two friends, an ancient eagle and an ancient tree, and one was very kindly and positive towards the humans, whereas the eagle was very untrusting and felt they were nothing but trouble. Kinda like the Professor and Magneto in X-Men. Anyway, always thought it was interesting that we had had those same kinda ideas. Impressive writing, Heather, findamn.
