when the trees blacken

and voices echo

who will fill the vast silence

when the sunsets are just fire

and the full moon just flood

who will read to our children

when the desert meets the tropics

and the roads crumble to dust

who will write down our history

when there is no more

when our breaths are counted

who will paint the wreckage

when the earth browns

and the dust settles

who’s left holding the blame?

when our words are forgotten

and our culture stripped bare

who will remember this

greatness

    1. It’s baffling to me how humans seem to be oblivious to the critical need to protect our planet. Our home is the only one we have, and yet we see people focusing solely on their own egos and material possessions, rather than taking the necessary steps to ensure the survival of our species in the long run. It’s troubling to think about the future of our planet and the children who will inherit it if we continue down this path. We need to shift our priorities and start taking action to protect our environment and secure a sustainable future for humanity.😔🌟
